Stephen Miller, chosen by President-elect Trump as deputy chief of staff for policy, announced that mass deportations will be the administration’s top priority. Speaking on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Miller outlined plans for sweeping immigration actions starting on Trump’s first day in office.
In the interview with host Maria Bartiromo, Miller stated that Trump intends to issue executive orders to “seal the border shut” and initiate “the largest deportation operation in American history.” The plans, as reported by Mediaite, reflect Trump’s campaign promises to take decisive action on immigration.
Miller urged Congressional Republicans to support a border funding package that would include significant increases in resources for border patrol agents, military operations, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He criticized the longstanding rhetoric around border security, emphasizing that under Trump, this would no longer just be talk. “This will be the most important and significant domestic policy achievement in half a century,” Miller said.
Trump has appointed Tom Homan as his “border czar,” signaling a commitment to swift action on immigration reform. The administration plans to move quickly to deliver on Trump’s campaign promises, setting a tone for what could become a defining element of his upcoming term.
