Trump Announces Ceasefire Terms Between Israel and Iran, Declares End to ’12 Day War’
President Trump announced Monday evening that Israel and Iran have reached a full ceasefire agreement, set to take effect in stages beginning six hours from the time of his statement. The agreement comes just 48 hours after U.S. forces entered the conflict with strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Posting on Truth Social at 6 p.m. EDT, Trump wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,” adding that both nations would begin winding down their final operations immediately.
He said Iran would halt hostilities first, followed shortly by Israel, and predicted all fighting would conclude within 24 hours. “During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,” Trump emphasized.
Confident the truce would hold, Trump praised both sides for what he called “the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’”
Trump did not provide details on how the ceasefire deal was brokered or which third-party nations may have helped negotiate the terms. As of Monday evening, Israeli operations inside Iran were still reportedly ongoing.
