Trump Wins As Dems Sink

More registered voters now believe the U.S. is moving in the right direction, with 44% expressing optimism—the highest level since early 2004. However, 54% still feel the country is on the wrong track, according to a new NBC News poll.

President Trump continues to see some of his highest approval ratings since the start of his second term. But some of his aggressive policies are raising concerns among Americans, according to recent surveys. Meanwhile, Democrats are struggling, with party favorability hitting historic lows in multiple polls.

Trump’s job approval rating stands at 47%, matching his highest levels in NBC News polling. Among voters surveyed, 37% strongly approve, while 10% somewhat approve. This survey was conducted among 1,000 registered votersfrom March 7-11, with a ±3.1% margin of error.

At the same time, the Democratic Party has hit a record low in popularity, according to NBC’s historical tracking since 1990. Just 27% of respondents have a positive view, with 20% somewhat favorable and only 7% strongly approvingof the party. A separate CNN poll found that the Democratic Party’s favorability has dropped to 29%, its lowest level since CNN’s polling began in 1992.
