Trump to Receive Two Nobel Prizes?

Navarro Floats Nobel Prize in Economics for Trump’s Trade Agenda

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said Thursday that President Trump deserves the Nobel Prize in Economics for his role in reshaping global trade dynamics and forcing foreign nations to the negotiating table.

Appearing on Fox Business, Navarro claimed Trump had “taught the world trade economics” and deserved international recognition for confronting what he described as years of trade imbalances that hurt American workers.

“If there’s a Nobel for economic reality, it should go to President Trump,” Navarro said. “This is a fundamental restructuring of global trade where the biggest market the United States has finally said, ‘We’re not going to be taken advantage of anymore.’”

He argued that Trump’s aggressive tariff policies often criticized for risking inflation and trade wars had instead led to “tax cuts,” not price hikes, and opened the door for fairer deals with major global players. Navarro praised recent trade agreements with the United Kingdom, European Union, and Japan as proof that the administration’s strategy is “working beautifully.”

While talks with China remain ongoing, Navarro emphasized the speed and scope of the deals already reached. “They’re happening fast, and they’re proving to be highly effective,” he said.

Trump has also drawn several Nobel Peace Prize nominations in recent years for his diplomatic moves. Republicans Buddy Carter (R-GA) and Darrell Issa (R-CA) have both submitted nominations for the president’s role in brokering peace in the Middle East, including pushing a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu echoed the praise in July, delivering his own nomination letter.

Previously, Trump was nominated for his intervention in the India-Pakistan conflict though that nomination was later clouded by criticism from Pakistan over U.S. military action in the region.

Despite the accolades, Trump remains skeptical he’ll ever receive the Nobel honor. In a June post on Truth Social, the president dismissed the possibility outright, saying, “I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do… but the people know, and that’s what matters to me.”

He listed his efforts in Serbia-Kosovo, North Africa, Ukraine, and the Abraham Accords as examples of peace-building that, in his view, have gone underappreciated.

Trump has been nominated for the Peace Prize multiple times including by 18 House Republicans in 2018 for efforts to denuclearize North Korea and end decades of hostility on the Korean Peninsula. Still, the president insists the global elite will never formally recognize what he sees as groundbreaking diplomatic and economic achievements.
