Trump To Ban These Media Outlets?

President Trump sharply criticized the media on Friday, suggesting that certain press activities should be considered illegal and investigated. He also made it clear that he wants networks like CNN and MSNBC to be banned, accusing them of being corrupt and unfairly targeting him.

Speaking at the Department of Justice (DOJ), Trump launched into attacks against individuals and organizations he claims have persecuted him. He specifically called out CNN and MSNBC, referring to them as political operatives for the Democratic Party.

“I believe that CNN and MS-DNC, who literally write 97.6 percent bad about me, are political arms of the Democrat Party, and in my opinion, they’re really corrupt and illegal,” Trump said.

He further claimed that major media outlets coordinate their coverage and influence judicial decisions. “These networks and these newspapers are really no different than a highly paid political operative,” he asserted. “And it has to stop. It has to be illegal. It’s influencing judges and it’s really changing law, and it just cannot be legal. I don’t believe it’s legal, and they do it in total coordination with each other.”

Trump’s remarks at the DOJ were highly unusual for a sitting president, as it is rare for a leader to make such direct attacks on the press from within the Justice Department. During his speech, he not only criticized the Biden administration but also repeated claims of political persecution and named individuals he believes have unfairly targeted him.

His comments reflect a broader effort to restrict media outlets he views as adversarial. Trump has previously spoken about wanting greater control over the press, and his latest remarks suggest he is pushing for legal action or outright bans against networks he considers biased. His speech signals an escalation in his long-running battle with the media, raising concerns about press freedom and government influence over journalism.
