Zachary Levi Appeals to Elon Musk: Pro-Trump Workers Are Losing Jobs Amid Federal Cuts

Actor Zachary Levi is urging Elon Musk to ensure that hard-working federal employees don’t get swept up in mass layoffs, arguing that even Trump supporters are losing their jobs under the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) recent cost-cutting measures.

“I’m incredibly grateful for how the election turned out, especially with people like [Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] and [Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard] now confirmed and ready to do the work,” said Levi, who backed Trump’s 2024 campaign, during an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News.

Levi acknowledged that DOGE’s budget cuts, spearheaded by tech billionaire Musk, are complex and far-reaching but warned that good, dedicated federal workers are being caught in the crossfire.

“There are a lot of people who are really afraid right now,” Levi said. “There are honest, hard-working government employees who are getting lost in the cracks. And we have to do something about that.”

Directly addressing Musk and his team, Levi pleaded, “Please, don’t let everyone fall through the cracks. We all understand that changes need to happen. We need to cut out the problems in the system. But we can’t destroy the livelihoods of good people in the process.”

He compared the government layoffs to cancer treatments, saying, “When doctors perform surgery on a tumor, they sometimes have to remove healthy tissue, too. It’s not what they want to do, but it’s part of getting rid of the disease. And right now, that’s exactly what’s happening.”

DOGE, which has been hit with multiple lawsuits over its workforce reductions, recently announced that its efforts have saved $55 billion. In an executive order signed last week, Trump directed federal agencies to begin preparing for ‘large-scale reductions in force’ and instructed DOGE officials to create new hiring plans moving forward.

As the government reshapes its workforce, Levi’s comments highlight the growing concerns over who gets left behind in the process.
