Special Poll
Around 13 minutes into his speech at a rally in Detroit on a recent Friday night, former President Donald Trump experienced a technical glitch when his microphone suddenly stopped working.
Trump was in the midst of discussing his long-held belief that Detroit, often referred to as the Motor City, was poised for a resurgence. He passionately claimed that, if re-elected in November, he would ensure that this resurgence became a reality.
He was emphasizing the significance of certain words in his view, stating, “To me, the most beautiful word in the dictionary—it’s not ‘love,’ it’s not ‘respect,’” when his microphone abruptly failed.
As Trump moved around the stage trying different microphones, the audience filled the silence with chants of “USA” and “We love Trump,” while some background music played. This disruption marked the second incident in a week, following a pause at a town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, where he stopped the event due to medical emergencies among attendees.
It took approximately 20 minutes to resolve the microphone issue.
Upon resuming his speech, Trump expressed his frustration, saying, “Thank you, everyone. So, here’s what’s going to happen—I’m not going to pay the bill for this incompetent company that provided us with this defective equipment. I’ll refuse the payment, and then it’ll become a story about how Trump didn’t pay a contractor.”
He continued, “But when you receive such poor service, why would you pay? They also seemed to have some power issues in the building, but I won’t put the blame solely on that.”
Trump outlined his resolve humorously, “Do we have fun here? Can everyone hear me clearly now? I disliked this mic from the start.”
Highlighting the importance of the rally’s goals, he added, “This is crucial because we are undertaking significant endeavors here that will truly be transformative. Let me know if there are any more issues. And if this microphone fails again, I’ll take legal action against the company. They’ll criticize me for it, claiming I’m a horrible person. But that’s the approach I’m willing to take.”
