Special Poll
Former President Trump, late Tuesday, dismissed the possibility of participating in another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. He stated he was “not looking to do it again” after the recent vice-presidential face-off.
For weeks, Harris and her campaign have pushed for a second debate with Trump, renewing the call immediately following the vice-presidential debate between Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio).
“Vice President Harris believes that the American people deserve to see her and Trump on the debate stage one more time. She will be in Atlanta on October 23 — Donald Trump should step up and face the voters,” said Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon, referencing an upcoming CNN debate that Harris has agreed to attend.
However, Trump has consistently declined the idea of another debate. He maintains that he won the September 10th debate, despite polls suggesting otherwise, and argues that it is too late for another debate, especially with early voting already underway.
“I beat Biden, I then beat her, and I’m not looking to do it again, too far down the line,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Votes are already cast — And I’m leading BIG in the Polls. I’ll MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, she’s incapable of it!”
A poll released Wednesday by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report found that Harris is leading Trump in five out of seven battleground states, though all margins are within 3 percentage points.
Harris is ahead in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while Trump holds a 2-point lead in Georgia. The poll also showed the two tied in North Carolina.
