A popular TikTok creator, Khaby Lame, has left the United States after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid President Trump’s intensifying immigration enforcement efforts. ICE confirmed that Lame, an Italian citizen, was granted voluntary departure on June 6 and has since exited the country. Lame’s team did not respond to a request for comment.
The situation quickly gained attention after another TikTok personality, Bo Loudon a self-described pro-Trump influencer claimed responsibility for initiating Lame’s removal. In a post on X dated June 6, the 18-year-old wrote, “I discovered he was an illegal who overstayed an invalid VISA, evaded taxes, and I personally took action to have him deported.”
Loudon, who is known to be close friends with Barron Trump and was a vocal supporter of President Trump during the 2024 election, also referred to Lame as a “far-left illegal alien,” despite Lame rarely posting political content. When asked for comment, Loudon pointed to an interview he did with content creator Dylan Page. In that interview, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday, Loudon said he was tipped off by friends who had worked with Lame and suspected visa issues. “I just called some buddies in the administration,” he said. “And I’ve never seen anything happen so quick.”
Lame’s exit from the country comes as the Trump administration ramps up its immigration crackdown, including a recent series of ICE raids in Los Angeles that led to mass detentions and widespread protests. In response to the unrest, the administration deployed approximately 4,000 National Guard troops and several hundred Marines to the area a move condemned by local Democratic leaders as unnecessary and provocative.
