Trump Goes On A 100 Day Blitz

President Trump is launching a media blitz this week to mark the first 100 days of his second term in the White House.

Trump is set to take a victory lap with a speech Tuesday in Michigan, where he plans to highlight his administration’s efforts on border security and inflation in the key battleground state he flipped back to red in November. The Michigan appearance will be his first major speech outside of Washington since returning to the presidency.

Later that night, ABC News will air a one-hour prime-time interview with Trump conducted by Terry Moran in the Oval Office, scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT. The sit-down coincides with the release of a new ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll showing Trump’s approval rating at 39 percent the lowest 100-day rating for any president in the past 80 years.

On Wednesday, Trump will participate in a live town hall event on NewsNation, hosted by Chris Cuomo. The two-hour broadcast, starting at 8 p.m. EDT, will also feature members of the Trump administration, including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., alongside commentators Bill O’Reilly and Stephen A. Smith.

Thursday, Trump will give a commencement address at the University of Alabama, a notable choice given his ongoing clashes with many higher education institutions, particularly those in the Ivy League.

The series of appearances comes on the heels of Trump’s recent wide-ranging interview with Time magazine, published last week, and another interview with The Atlantic that was released Monday.

The White House is promoting Trump’s media push as a showcase of his administration’s early accomplishments, emphasizing a flood of executive actions, reductions in the federal workforce, trade confrontations, and a hardline crackdown on immigration as he hits the 100-day milestone.
