Trump Exposes Democrats Ploy

On Sunday, former President Trump launched a social media barrage against President Biden’s decision to withdraw from the November reelection race, accusing the move of being undemocratic and mocking Biden’s mental fitness.

Trump posted ten times on Truth Social from the time Biden announced his withdrawal until Monday morning. He complained that it was unfair for the Republican Party to face a new opponent and suggested that if Biden could not run for reelection, he should not remain president.

“The Democrats pick a candidate, Crooked Joe Biden, he loses the Debate badly, then panics, and makes mistake after mistake, is told he can’t win, and decide they will pick another candidate, probably Harris,” Trump posted on Monday. “They stole the race from Biden after he won it in the primaries — A First! These people are the real THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!”

This sentiment was echoed by other GOP members, who argued that Democrats were disregarding the primary voters’ choice by replacing Biden. Despite these claims, Democrats have largely rallied behind Vice President Harris, who was on the ticket that received millions of primary votes.

Trump also focused on attacking Biden’s mental acuity, at one point falsely suggesting that Biden did not actually have COVID-19 while isolating in Delaware.

“It’s a new day and Joe Biden doesn’t remember quitting the race yesterday! He is demanding his campaign schedule and arranging talks with Presidents Xi of China and Putin of Russia, concerning the possible start of World War 3. Biden is ‘sharp, decisive, energetic, angry, and ready to go!’” Trump wrote mockingly in one post.

“It’s not over! Tomorrow Crooked Joe Biden’s going to wake up and forget that he dropped out of the race today!” Trump wrote in another.

Echoing calls from other Republicans for Biden to resign, Trump asked, “Who is running our Country right now? It’s not Crooked Joe, he has no idea where he is. If he can’t run for office, he can’t run our Country!!!”

Biden announced on Sunday afternoon that he would not seek a second term, citing mounting pressure from Democratic leaders who doubted his ability to defeat Trump in November. Shortly after his announcement, Biden endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee. Harris expressed her intention to “earn and win” the party’s nomination, and it remains to be seen whether she will face any significant challengers before the Democratic convention next month in Chicago.
