Trump Christianity Secret

New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan shared his perspective on President-elect Donald Trump’s faith during an interview on Sunday, stating that Trump “takes his Christian faith seriously.”

Reflecting on his past conversations with Trump, Dolan remarked, “He’s pretty blunt about not being raised as a particularly zealous Christian, but he does take his faith seriously.” Dolan recounted a recent interaction with Trump at the Notre Dame Cathedral, where he jokingly told him it was “nice to see” him somewhere other than Fifth Avenue.

Earlier this month, Trump and first lady Jill Biden attended the reopening of the historic Notre Dame Cathedral, which had been under restoration since a devastating fire in 2019 destroyed its spire and much of its wooden roof.

During the interview, host Maria Bartiromo also referenced recent assassination attempts against the president-elect, highlighting a close call in Pennsylvania this past July. “It’s hard to explain, other than it was God’s work,” Bartiromo commented.

Dolan responded by drawing a parallel to the survival of both Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II after their respective assassination attempts in the early 1980s. He recalled a meeting between the two, where Reagan told the Pope, “Mother Teresa told me that she thinks the Lord spared me because He has something special in mind for me.”
