Trump Accepts Kamala’s Challenge?

Kellyanne Conway, a former senior adviser to President Donald Trump, shared on Monday that she still hopes Trump will consider another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. According to Conway, Trump hasn’t completely shut the door on the idea, as he hasn’t said a definitive “no” to the possibility.

Speaking on Fox News with Jesse Watters, Conway mentioned that she had a conversation with Trump earlier in the day. She teased the former president, suggesting that he wouldn’t be able to resist getting back on stage after the vice-presidential debate between Harris and her Republican counterpart.

“I had a chat with President Trump today,” Conway said. “We spoke for about an hour, and I told him, ‘The Donald Trump I know would never just sit back and watch after a 90-minute VP debate without wanting to jump back in and have the last word. You’re going to be itching to say, ‘When’s our next one?’”

Conway, who helped steer Trump’s successful 2016 campaign, has been vocal in encouraging him to reconsider. She compared Trump to a star baseball player, saying, “It’s like I told him—you’re like Shohei Ohtani, you’re doing it all, pitching and batting. You’ve done this many times, and she’s only had one debate. Why not jump back in?”

She added that while Trump had previously said “no” to another debate, it wasn’t an absolute rejection. Conway hinted that while the planned October 23 debate hosted by CNN might be too late for Trump’s liking, the door wasn’t completely closed.

During the interview, Conway also shared that Trump expressed concerns about safety, though the details were cut short as the interview wrapped up.

The first debate between Trump and Harris took place earlier this year, and many saw it as a win for Harris. Following the debate, Trump announced he wouldn’t participate in further debates, claiming he was satisfied with his performance in the initial faceoff. However, Harris accepted an invitation for a second debate in October, hosted by CNN, which Trump declined. She has since continued to challenge him to return to the debate stage.
