Top Republican And Trump Nemesis Endorses Kamala

Former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, marking the latest high-profile Republican endorsement for a Democrat.

Cheney made the endorsement during an appearance at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.

In her remarks, Cheney emphasized the danger she believes Donald Trump poses, stating, “Not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”

Cheney urged voters, especially in swing states, not to write in candidates’ names, stressing the importance of voting strategically in the current political climate.

Cheney, previously a member of Republican leadership, was ousted for her outspoken criticism of Trump. She has also warned that if Trump is re-elected, he may attempt to stay in power beyond his term.

In an interview on NBC’s “TODAY” show, Cheney reiterated that she would never vote for Trump and is committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure he is defeated in 2024.

In August, the Harris campaign received endorsements from over two dozen Republicans, many of whom have openly opposed Trump’s candidacy.

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who also served on the Jan. 6 commission with Cheney, has endorsed Harris as well. Kinzinger had previously supported President Joe Biden before he dropped out of the race and has been vocal about Trump’s impact on the GOP.

Cheney lost her House seat in 2022 after being defeated by a Trump-backed candidate in a Republican primary. She was first elected in 2016.
