Fox News Insults Trump

President Trump’s approval rating has dipped significantly in a new Fox News poll, with more Americans now disapproving than approving of his job performance as he nears the 100-day mark of his second term. The survey showed Trump’s approval at just 44 percent, an 11-point deficit compared to the 55 percent who say they disapprove. That’s also a drop of 5 points from where he stood in March.

The numbers paint a troubling picture for Trump, especially given that Fox News typically favorable to conservative voters is the source. By comparison, previous presidents were polling much higher at this point in their terms: George W. Bush had 63 percent approval, Barack Obama had 62 percent, and Joe Biden was at 54 percent. Even Trump himself had slightly better numbers during the same point in his first term.

The biggest hits are coming from how voters perceive Trump’s economic management. Nearly 60 percent of respondents disapprove of how he’s handling inflation and his aggressive tariff policy, while only about a third express support. More than half 56 percent disapprove of his overall approach to the economy, compared to just 38 percent who approve.

What’s especially striking is that the economy, once considered Trump’s strong suit, is now emerging as a political liability. The Fox poll found that 71 percent of voters now rate the economy as “poor,” and 55 percent believe conditions are getting worse for their own families. Majorities also said they think Trump’s economic policies are not just failing now but will cause long-term harm as well.

These numbers are a blow to Trump’s narrative that his second term would bring a return to prosperity and stability. Instead, public confidence is eroding, particularly on the issues Trump has most aggressively championed like trade wars and inflation control.

As Trump continues to push controversial economic policies, including steep tariffs and public disputes with the Federal Reserve, the polling suggests the political cost may be mounting. And with support sliding even among independents and swing voters, the path forward could grow more difficult just as his administration hoped to consolidate momentum.
