Crockett Slanders Trump

Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas fired back at President Donald Trump on Sunday after he referred to her as a “low IQ person” during his appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press. Crockett, a vocal freshman Democrat, responded directly on X, formerly known as Twitter, calling out Trump for repeatedly targeting her and accusing him of being intimidated by outspoken women of color who challenge his agenda.

“For you to be in charge of the WHOLE country, you sure do have my name in your mouth a lot,” Crockett posted. “Every time you say my name, you’re reminding the world that you’re terrified of smart, bold Black women telling the truth and holding you accountable. So keep talking…”

Trump’s jab came during an interview in which he criticized the Democratic Party, claiming it was in disarray. He brought up Crockett by name and dismissed her as lacking intelligence, adding, “They said she’s the future of the party.”

Crockett, who has served Texas’ 30th Congressional District since January 2023, has not held back in her opposition to Trump or to high-profile figures like Elon Musk. She has criticized the administration’s sweeping budget cuts led by the Department of Government Efficiency and its efforts to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Her strong stances have made her both a rising figure among Democrats and a frequent target of right-wing critics.

She’s also gained attention for her combative style. In one memorable moment earlier this year, she clashed with South Carolina Republican Nancy Mace during a House Oversight Committee meeting. The heated exchange escalated to the point where Mace challenged Crockett to “take it outside” after objecting to being called “child.”

Crockett’s bluntness has extended beyond Congress. In February, she drew headlines for a viral video where, when asked what she would say to Elon Musk, she simply replied, “F*** off.” In March, she posted to X encouraging a “Tesla Takedown” protest on her birthday, writing, “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.” She later doubled down after criticism from former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying she planned to attend one of the demonstrations.

Controversy has followed Crockett in other areas too. She came under fire for calling Texas Governor Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels” during a press conference. Critics said the comment was an attack on his disability, but Crockett later clarified that she was referring to his deportation policies, not his paralysis.

As her profile continues to rise, Crockett has proven to be a relentless and unapologetic critic of Trump and his allies one who appears unbothered by the backlash and eager to continue the fight.
