Rep. Jasmine Crockett said Tuesday that she would “absolutely” take an IQ test alongside President Trump, doubling down on her response to a jab he made earlier this year about her intelligence.
Her remarks came during an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where Kimmel brought up the president’s recent insult, referring to Crockett as “low IQ.”
“Would you be willing to take an IQ test publicly, head-to-head against the president of the United States?” Kimmel asked.
Crockett didn’t hesitate, interjecting with “absolutely” before Kimmel could finish the question, and then repeated it once more for emphasis.
Trump had made the comment during a radio appearance in March, telling WMAL host Vince Coglianese that Crockett was “a very low IQ person.” He later mocked her again at a National Republican Congressional Committee dinner, saying that if she’s considered the “new star” of the Democratic Party, “they’re in serious trouble.”
Crockett brushed off the attack during her Kimmel interview, pointing out how odd it was for the president to be focused on her.
“It says a lot when you literally are supposed to be the leader of the free world and you’re worried about a rising sophomore in the House,” she said.
She also questioned Trump’s own mental fitness during a separate interview last month on MSNBC, highlighting the economic turbulence that has followed his aggressive use of tariffs.
“The fact that no one is questioning his mental acuity or fitness to serve is beyond wild to me,” she said, noting the irony that many critics used to call President Biden “Sleepy Joe.”
“At least you could sleep at night because you didn’t have to worry about your 401(k) disappearing overnight,” she added.
