Biden-Kamala Scared Of This VP Candidate?

Ashley Etienne, previously the Communications Director for Vice President Kamala Harris, believes Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio) could be the most formidable opponent for Harris in a vice presidential debate. Speaking with CNN’s Laura Coates, Etienne praised Vance’s debating skills and his appeal to undecided voters, who form a small but critical segment of the electorate.

Etienne expressed her view that Vance’s combination of intelligence, quick wit, and relatability could pose a significant challenge to Harris. Her comments came during a period when former President Trump is actively searching for a vice presidential candidate, considering various prominent Republicans, including Vance.

Trump’s vetting process has recently intensified, with figures like North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and Senators Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, and Vance on the shortlist. Others being considered include Representative Byron Donalds, Representative Elise Stefanik, and Ben Carson, the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Senator Vance, who defended Trump on television after the latter’s felony convictions, is noted for his youth and his rapid political rise. Trump has indicated that his choice for a running mate will be announced at the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Vice President Harris, meanwhile, has stated her readiness to debate whoever the Republican candidate may be, asserting her preparedness to advocate for her party’s position. During the 2020 election, a CNN poll showed that a majority of debate watchers felt Harris outperformed then Vice President Mike Pence.
