Biden Back As Presidential Candidate?

Schiff and Newsom Mock Trump’s Claim on Biden’s Return

On Tuesday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.), and others ridiculed former President Trump for suggesting that President Biden might attempt to reclaim the Democratic nomination.

Trump posted on Truth Social, questioning the likelihood that “Crooked Joe Biden,” whom he labeled as the “WORST President,” might disrupt the Democratic National Convention to reclaim his position and challenge Trump to another debate. Trump accused Biden of regretting handing over the presidency, calling it a coup orchestrated by individuals including Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Chuck Schumer.

Schiff, the Democratic nominee for a California U.S. Senate seat, responded on the social platform X, reassuring Trump, “It’s ok to be scared.”

Governor Newsom also chimed in, responding to Trump’s post with, “Oh, he’s scared.”

Vice President Harris has emerged as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after President Biden exited the 2024 race following growing concerns from Democrats about his age and mental fitness. Schiff was among those who urged Biden to step down to improve the party’s chances in the upcoming election.

Two Republican groups, Republican Voters Against Trump and The Lincoln Project, also criticized Trump’s post, calling it “unhinged.” They highlighted Trump’s claims about the presidency being “stolen” from Biden by Harris and Obama and his suggestion that Biden might challenge him again.

This exchange underscores the intense and often contentious political climate as the 2024 election approaches.
