Another Trump Jumps In To 2028 Presidency

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the U.S. president, said Wednesday he isn’t ruling out a future bid for the presidency, suggesting the idea remains a possibility.

“Maybe one day … that calling is there,” he said during remarks at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha. He praised his father’s impact on American politics, saying, “I think my father has truly changed the Republican Party.”

Seen as one of the most recognizable figures in the MAGA movement, Trump Jr. has been floated as a potential political heir to his father’s legacy. While he currently holds the position of executive vice president at the Trump Organization, he’s also heavily involved in shaping the second Trump administration from behind the scenes. His influence includes helping ensure key government roles are filled by ideological allies and vocal loyalists, and he remains a frequent and forceful advocate on social media.

During his appearance at the Doha event, Trump Jr. defended the administration’s economic agenda, particularly the aggressive trade strategy that has drawn sharp criticism from some corners of the political and business world. He argued that fears of economic fallout are overblown and said media coverage had created “hysteria” around the policies. “Changes take time,” he said, downplaying concerns among American consumers.

Earlier this year, Trump Jr. rejected speculation that he was preparing a run in the 2028 election. At the time, he emphasized his role in pushing his father to choose JD Vance as a running mate, calling Vance “an instant power player” within the GOP.

Meanwhile, former President Trump despite being barred from seeking a third term under the Constitution has continued to hint at a possible return to the political stage in 2028, fueling speculation about the future of the movement he built.
